Marissa Vogl: Intro to Oil Painting Workshop for Beginners;
No Experience Necessary
August 21 - 23, 2026
This workshop will introduce you to the rich, colorful world of oil painting. Topics will include: why oil paints are chosen as a medium; terminology to better understand the process of painting with oils and the mediums used; and how to use oils for a loose-style approach while incorporating various tools. We will take a look at basic colors and understanding the varieties available as well as learning the basic fundamentals for color mixing.
The workshop will take place August 21 - 23 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from 9am - 4pm.
Cost: $525
(A $200 deposit is due upon signing up. The balance can be paid during the workshop).
This price does not include materials.

Laurie Meyer Color Workshop
October 5 - October 8, 2026
We are thrilled to announce that artist Laurie Meyer will be hosting another color workshop at our Daniel Island Gallery and Studio.
This workshop will explore the nuances of pigments and color mixing and the science behind color perception and application. Daily skills and exercises will enhance your understanding of how color can enhance your paintings. Improve mixing greens, often considered the most difficult land challenging hue in landscapes. Additionally, we will explore creating beautiful and believable light and shadow.
